Dining

Arkansas restaurants serve heaping portions of southern cuisine. With so much good food, there's bound to be something to please every palate in almost every part of the state. From Little Rock to Fayette Ville and Hot Springs to Eureka Springs and nearby towns in between, Arkansas restaurants cater to all appetites. And if you're looking for something out-of-the-ordinary don't miss one of our unusual dining spots. Find an Arkansas restaurant where you can dine in a cave or a giant orange. Or in a Boeing 727-- without ever leaving the ground.

Have you sampled some of our culinary culture? We do great barbecue, catfish and fried green tomatoes.

But dining in Arkansas isn't limited to just catfish, barbecue and chicken. Ethnic and regional restaurants serve Mexican, Greek, Chinese, French, Italian, Indian, German plus steak, pizza and sushi. Fish and seafood, including rainbow trout, are plentiful on many menus as are other healthy choices. Homemade yeast rolls and cornbread make a tasty accompaniment as does a frosty mug of iced tea or glass of Arkansas Wine. Just be sure to save room for dessert and coffee or perhaps a specialty ale from an Arkansas Micro Brewery.

Whether you're in the mood for an award-winning upscale eatery, a national chain restaurant or a Mom and Pop cafe or diner, you'll find good eats in Arkansas.

In The Natural State, food is serious business. Southern festivals and cook-offs are abundant, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to sample local favorites or showcase their cooking talents. In Arkansas, you'll truly find some of the most unique food festivals in the United States.

Praise the purple hull pea at the annual July festival in Emerson. Don't miss the World's Championship Steak Cook-off in Magnolia each May. Tout the tomato at the Pink Tomato Festival in Warren. Salute spinach in Alma, the "Spinach Capital of the World." Glorify the grape at the annual festivals held in Altus and Tontitown. Marvel at the melons during Hope's annual Watermelon Festival. Rallies for rice, Arkansas's major crop -- are held in Weiner and Hazen. Take your secret recipe and join others in one of the many cook-offs held annually in Arkansas.

From gumbo to spinach to ribs, you'll find a cornucopia of challenges surrounding your favorite food or recipe. From chili to tomatoes to peaches, Arkansas is home to a virtual feast of southern festivals and cook-offs. You don't have to worry about leaving hungry!
